Telecom and retail leaders AIS and Central Retail jointly recover the opening economy Potential of 5G supports CRC Retailligence to deliver happiness to Thais and tourists with AIS Points Shopping Coupon campaign for 1 million product lines in 2,400 stores

5 May 2565: Nowadays, digital tech infrastructure has become a key factor to power the economy, from the local to the macro level. In particular, during the recovery from COVID, every sector has been able to deal with it and continue their operations. As a result, the leaders in two key industries, AIS and Central Retail, have joined forces and combined their strengths seamlessly through the potential of smart networks to provide experience to customers when shopping. Networks and digital services connect with consumer behavior, enabling exclusive privileges maximally tailored to the customer, to the greatest extent. Throughout the campaign, AIS 5G x Central Retail Everyday Special, customers can use AIS points on the myAIS app to redeem cash coupons worth up to 100 baht when buying products at stores under Central Retail and restaurants in Central Restaurant Group at over 2,400 locations. All product categories are participating, counting over 1 million product lines of fashion, restaurants, convenience goods and hard lines among many others throughout the year.

Mr Pratthana Leelapanang, Chief Consumer Business Officer at AIS said, “The country is in a situation facing all kinds of challenges. As a result, all industries have been working together. AIS has a deep commitment to working with its partners, as it cannot grow strongly on its own. Exploiting the strengths of each party to benefit all Thai people and the nation is another key goal of the collaboration. Today is another important step for AIS in announcing this cooperation with Central Retail, a global-level company leading retail in Thailand. We are unleashing the potential of the Intelligence Network to mature the Digital Retail Ecosystem and provide both domestic and visiting customers with an experience of products and services that matches their expectations, in an atmosphere of returning to normal. We are confident that this cooperation will be a great thank you to customers, and will continue powering the macro economy.”

Mr Ty Chirathivat, Chief Financial Officer at Central Retail Corporation PCL, explained further that, “Central Retail is determined to boost its operational capabilities and level up services for customers and shops, which is the origin of this strategic cooperation with AIS to improve the customer shopping experience and meet their diverse needs and rapid change, in which we are jointly spending over 100 million baht on the AIS 5G x Central Retail Everyday Special campaign. We are bringing over 1,000,000 product items to the table from over 2,400 shops to give back to our valued customers. It should be the best, biggest and longest campaign all year, deploying the strengths of both parties to deliver the best shopping experience to our customers.

“We are committed to presenting brand-new formats of shopping to highlight the potential for moving into retail of the future. This is ready to deliver shopping experiences consistent with market trends and which meets customers’ needs in every aspect. Partnering with AIS is a crucial business cooperation adding to the ecosystem, for it to be fully mature in line with our CRC Retailligence strategy. This achieves success and brings benefits for our partners to grow with us sustainably, or Inclusive growth. This is coupled with developing society and communities, as well as bringing benefits to the Thai macro economy which is currently recovering as the Thailand reopens once more,” concluded Mr Ty.

This cooperation between AIS and Central Retail is a strategic partnership with the key target of deploying digital tech infrastructure to connect with understanding of consumer behavior to produce products and services for a superior digital shopping experience. This now includes privileges designed to bring overall benefit in many aspects to the entire supply chain, incorporating vendors and partners, shop-in-shop operators and the shopping malls themselves. There are the many branded outlets under Central Retail distributed nationwide, and not forgetting the employees of both companies, as well as, of course, customers.

  • Virtual Commerce: Shopping does not have to end at buying offline or online. Virtual reality technology running on AIS 5G enables customers to walk the virtual world to buy products, in the free way they are used to in a real store. Central Retail has overcome the limitations of traditional storefronts to create Virtual Commerce, by bringing products branded under the umbrellas of Central Marketing Group (CMG), PowerBuy and SuperSport to the V Avenue.co platform. It is even possible to put on a virtual fashion show as a marketing activity for online shoppers for the first time with VR technology. Leading global tech is being prepared to upgrade Central Retail into the retailer of the future.
  • Exclusive privileges for customers through the campaign, AIS 5G x Central Retail Everyday Special, customers can redeem AIS points through the myAIS app for coupons worth up to 100 baht to purchase products at outlets under Central Retail. These include Central Department Stores, Robinson, SuperSport, PowerBuy, Thai Watsadu, BnB Home, Auto One, OfficeMate, B2S, Marks and Spencer, Muji, Tops Market, Tops Superstore, Tops Daily, Central Food Hall, Family Mart, Matsumoto, KiYoshi and participating brand counters of Central Marketing Group. Restaurants in Central Restaurant Group include Mister Donut, Auntie Anne’s, Pepper Lunch, Shabu Tong Ramen, Cold Stone Creamery, Thai Terrace, Yoshinoya, Tenya, Katsuya, Aroi D and Arigato in Mister Donut, a total of over 2,400 outlets. Customers can make the clicks to collect coupons on the myAIS app on every 5th, 15th and 25th of the month, from 0900 onwards, until the privileges are used up, a total of 100,000 coupons per month from 5 May 2022 to 25 December 2022. It should be the best, biggest and longest campaign all year.

Pratthana added, “Working with Central Retail has shown us that we can be part of growing the retail sector from every angle. This ranges from creating digital shopping experiences and developing platforms with AIS 5G smart network technology, to providing personalized exclusive privileges to customers. In this campaign we intend customers to redeem their AIS Points for coupons, to shop for products in Central Retail stores, which cover every shopping lifestyle. This occasion is a great example clearly highlighting that working to change the face of retail can bring huge benefits to every party. When we do this with Central Retail, it moves the dial on the national economy to enable growth, despite the many challenges of the current era.”
